Hi all, I'm back from my maternity leave and I'm feeling great.  It might sound corny but I really missed this place.  My son is exactly one month old today and is growing like a weed.  He's the most amazing little person!  Anyway, enough proud parent boasting.  It seems there is much work to be done.  

    GlaGla shoes are not only the most functional shoes I have ever come across, but they also have an appeal for those with an eye for high fashion shoes.  Our bright, colorful shoes are a definately way to show individuality and creativity in your style.  Did you know that nothing sets off a bland look like a bold focal point.  Our shoes are a definate attention grabber.  Remember your style says a lot about you so why not be fun and exciting!  

    It's getting to be that time of year again here in Indiana. Summer comes to a close and Fall creeps in. GlaGla Shoes are designed to be ventillated and to keep your feet cool during the Summer. How will they work the rest of the year?
    Last winter I had a pair of the earlier generation GlaGlas, and to my surprise they were great in the winter, provided there was no snow on the ground. I did step in a show drift once; that wasn't much fun at all. But, as far as the cooler temperatures go, GlaGla Shoes were great. I think that the extra ventillation keeps your feet from sweating which actually keeps them warmer than many other tennis shoes. I was worried about the GlaGla Classic slip on shoes design but it turned out to be just fine in the winter.

There has been something that I have been meaning to do for quite sometime and that is to take a vacation.  I am really good at taking a day to someplace close or a weekend trip to see a ball game of some variety.  I want to take my GlaGla shoes to some place with a warm tropical vibe that is not to busy.  I can see it now:  in a hammock, my feet kicked up under a palm tree with a pair of our colorful shoes.  That sounds "delightful" does it not?  Not for too long or anything about a month should do.  With these lightweight shoes you can take them anywhere.  Plus if you were on a plane you could slip them on and off with no problem.  For a bigger advantage one would not have to worry about catching any crap from security unless it were to ask were they could get a pair.  Well until this day dream comes to reality I will just have to settle for my weekend trips.  I do love the weekend.

Here's a little GlaGla shoe advice:  If you are the type of person that does not utilize an alarm clock EVER and when you wake up is when you wake up...do not schedule a very important business meeting at 8am on the complete other side of town 40 minutes away.  Not the best of ideas.  A kind of wise man once told me "Chad whatever you are thinking...do the opposite."

    Today, I spent a good portion of the day meeting with, and talking with a prospecive distributor for the Mississippi area. He lives approximately an hour north of the Gulf coast and thinks GlaGla Shoes would sell great down that way. They are great water sport shoes and would wonderful for anyone living in a coastal area. 
    We spent the day talking about business plans and what the best plan of attack to spread the shoes across the state would be. The business is really picking up and it is exciting to see how many people are newly interested in the shoes. It is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get in on the ground floor of a new and potentially huge business.
    GlaGlas are lightweight shoes but are a great opportunity for anyone looking to become a heavyweight in the shoe industry. Look out Mississippi, here we come!

    Ok, we finally have some POS material (that means Point of Sale for all of you who aren't in the "biz"). I've been working on getting some posters together for, it feels like, forever. Finally, they have arrived. They look great too, if I do say so myself.
    We have our new look and our new logo and slogan: GlaGla Shoes: Built to Breath. I know, I know, you all love it. I thought you might. The poster depitcs one of our more colorful shoes with air blowing through the outsole to illustrate how they are so lightweight. 
    Each poster will have a "GlaGla Truth" on it. Which, is basically a funny little saying about GlaGla Shoes or just a funny little view on the world in general.

As everyone knows this past weekend was Labor Day weekend, and if your town is anything like mine there was a lot going on.  In metro Indianapolis we had Oktober Fest, NHRA nationals, and Rib Fest.  Not to mention there was a Colts, Indians, and a Fever game.  What better shoe could you possibly wear?  Gla Gla shoes  would be perfect for all these events. 

On a side note, I was doing business today with a gentleman from Georgia.  Really nice guy, he sells fitness walking shoes, casual shoes and even high fashion shoes.  We were talking about how much I could sell it to him for and he was doing his best to cut GlaGla shoes down.  I had actually sold this gentleman a sample for his daughter so he could actually feel the product for himself.  So as he is cutting Gla Gla shoes down I stopped him mid sentence and asked him one simple question "So, how does your daughter like the shoe?"  He paused for about 10 seconds and said "She likes them alot, loves 'em, matter of fact she is wearing them right now."  I stopped him again chuckled and said "that's what it's all about."  He stopped again.  Gotcha ;)

    Our air-conditioner broke at work today. As many of you know this could very well make for the worst working environment imaginable. It was a balmy 89 degrees sitting at my desk. So, I decided to take this show on the road. I am now at home, sitting on my couch, feet up on my table, wearing my GlaGla Shoes, and enjoying the cool air in my apartment.
    I often get on here and talk about how great GlaGla shoes are. Every once in a while even I am amazed at how great my GlaGlas are. I realized once I got home, that my feet weren't hot at all today. My t-shirt felt like a heating blanket, and I'm not convinced my jeans weren't fur-lined. But, my feet weren't hot at all. My GlaGla Classic slip-on shoes kept my feet cool all day. It is great to be involved with a product that I believe in so much.

The worst part about working here at GlaGla shoes is when I get the itch to get new shoes.  I love shoes.  That is a very easy statement for me to say.  For a male I believe I have an abnormal amount of shoes.  Just in rotation I would say that I have around 20 different pairs from nice dress up shoes to athletic shoes.  So the past 2 weeks I have been walking the warehouse trying to decide which pair I want.  Do I want to go "festive" and do a wild color such as the tutti frutti, yellow and black, or green?  Or do I want to go more conservative like the black on white, chocolate, or all black?  Then we come to our specialty colors that I would wear with certain outfits such as the sky blue, orange or maroon?  I have only been working at GlaGla shoes for about 2 months and I already have two pair of these casual athletic delight of a shoe, and it is nice to know I have 10 plus colors I can still choose from.  I love breathable athletic shoes.  Streets!

    Ok, I know the title is a little bit cheesey. But, it seems to fit. GlaGla Shoes has become a great opportunity for me. I get a chance to be part of building a new business from the ground up. 
    Everyday after work I go back to my apartment and hop on the treadmill for a little run. I have a pair of new balance velcro shoes that I run in. I tried running in my GlaGlas for the first time and was pleasently surprised by how great they were. My run gives me time to unwind from the work day which is when I have time to do some of my best thinking.
    First off, the shoes felt great! I thouroughly enjoyed running in them. Which created a wierd sense of moving toward a lifetime goal of being a successful business man, while actually running in the product that will help me achieve that goal. I truly think my GlaGla black mesh shoes are the greatest thing that has happened to me in the last few years.

    The only way to really experience all that GlaGla shoes have to offer is to try them on.  If I could make it my job I would travel around the U.S. and have people put their feet in our shoes.  Everyone who tries them loves them, and buys them!
    Today a fellow from Virginia called me and wanted to know if GlaGla shoes would be a good shoe for biking.  Apparently he is a police officer there and he is part of a team of officers who are all cyclists.  Fun!  Anyway, I told him a little about the durability and comfort of our lightweight shoes and he sounded really excited to try a pair.  I'm sure that when he gets them he and the whole team will have to have them.  So if you live in Roanoke, Va look for a bunch of GlaGla wearing police bikers.
    It's really easy to start a team trend.  Just make sure you're the one who gets kudos for the having the idea.  That's what the Hawaiian Tropic girls did.  Make your mark!    

    Friends don't let friends wear Crocs. Working here at GlaGla Shoes, I often speak with people who compare our shoes with Crocs. On one hand I am flattered that people compare us with one of the most successful footwear companies of the last decade. On the other hand, I personally think Crocs are ugly, and don't like having our shoes compared with them.
    Its true that both Crocs and GlaGlas are lightweight shoes, but that's about where the similarities stop. While Crocs are very comfortable, GlaGla shoes are just as comfortable but can be worn in a million more circumstances. 
    GlaGlas can and should be compared with Crocs, as long as Crocs are coming in second to the greatest new product to hit the USA in years, GlaGla Shoes.

    I try to live an active life the best that I can.  I play slow pitch softball, have had run ins with indoor soccer in the past, I used to play alot of basketball (I'm kind of in a little retirement, but I am thinking about making a Jordan like comeback) and sometimes I will go on a two or three day health kick were I do actually work out.  Every sport has a shoe that you need to wear.  It's all about transition with the bad boys.  Another reason why I love GlaGla shoes is I can wear them to the ball park, throw them in my bag, and then I can wear them afterwards when my feet are tired and need a rest.  They are so easy to slip on it takes no effort.  Like we have stated if they get dirty, like at a ball park, I throw them in the wash nice and easy.   Keep It Movin!

I love fantasy toofball. I play it every year. Its gotten to the point where I actually worry that it's an addiction. It's my obsession with anything football that got me thinking. GlaGla Shoes come in all kinds of colors.

Living in Indianapolis I'm a Colts fan. We have a pair of shoes that matches Colts blue almost perfectly.

It is time for every sports fan to raise up and state proudly that they need a pair of GlaGlas that match their team color. GlaGla women's shoes also come in all the colors for the lady sports fan.

I've got a royal blue pair to match my Colts gear. Its time everyone else got there's.

    Two more weeks until my due date and you guessed it... I'm miserable!  There is a very special time during a women's pregnancy when her feet start to resemble canoes and standing is a task all on its own.  Apparently the swelling is a normal part of late pregnancy, however it feels anything but normal.  My need for comfortable walking shoes has far out-weighed anything else.  If I'm not wearing GlaGlas I'm barefoot.  Yes barefoot and pregnant.  I never really got that saying until now.  Good times.

    I love to ride my motorcycle. It is one of my favorite things to do on weekends. Wearing GlaGla shoes while riding is one of the most interesting sensations I've ver experienced on my bike. In my estimation they are the best riding shoes that I have ever put on.
    The ventilation in the outsole keeps your feet cool while walking around town, but you can really feel the wind move through your shoes while crusing down the highway on a motorcycle.

    Here over the next few weeks I'm going to get involved in some GlaGla shoes cold calling with Chad " the coldest cold caller" Mitchell.  My main focus on will be our kids shoes which are pretty much my bread and butter.  There is not a kid in the world who doesn't need breathable athletic shoes like these.  I think our shoes would be a great addition to any store's line-up especially those who specialize in children's footwear.  So while I'm enjoying maternity leave with the newest member of my family I'm going to be able to work from home, which is great news for me.  This truely is a wonderful place to work and you couldn't ask for a better bunch of people.

This past weekend I practically lived in my GlaGlas.  Being the fun loving life of every party that I attend sometimes puts me in a really fun place.  On Thursday night I found myself on the roof of a sky scraper in downtown Indianapolis with a perfect view.  A few friends and I were wearing our GlaGlas and got to talking to some young urban professionals about the product.  One question led to another and my friend and I were pretty much running an impromptu press conference about the coolest shoes on Earth.  At the end of the evening, our business card stash was exhausted.  Saturday, I went poolside and the light weight easy to put on GlaGla was my shoe of choice.  I was able to put them on with wet feet.  My shoes and feet were dry in a matter of minutes.  Anyone who knows me knows I love to chill, constantly, so Sundays maybe my favorite day of the entire week especially with football season coming up.  So guess what I did Sunday with my Gla boys on?  Yep, chilled... til like 4 a.m.  To sum it all up I had a busy weekend between work, the pool, and kickin it I always had my GlaGlas on.  They are my favorite shoe and I will continue to sing out loud about them!!!

  Today I'm inspired to talk to you about the more unique things GlaGla shoes are good for.  Like for instance my hubby has been recently complaining about his feet hurting and blistering after work.  He's a crew leader at a landscaping company and really has his work cut out for him.  His feet are always getting wet, drying out, and then getting wet again.  Plus, mud galore!  My carpet suffers everyday.  Since GlaGla shoes are mesh water shoes they can dry out pretty quick.  We're talking 15 minutes.  And since I can just throw them in the wash I won't be stuck having to hand wash just the outside since we all know regular tennis shoes take FOREVER to dry.   No blisters.  No mud.  No problem.
    I'm sure you guys remember Cody's blog about the drummer who needed lightweight shoes.  Which makes you think GlaGlas would also be great weight lifting shoes.  Those guys might be strong but they need lightweight shoes for balance when lifting cars over their heads.  Wouldn't you?  Nursing is another one.  These are probably the best nursing shoes ever made!  Lastly, and I can vouch for this the most, kids shoes.  You and your kids will love them!  I'm sure you can think of lot's of stuff too. I have been working at GlaGla for a while now and I am starting to understand the concept around here.  Everyone that works here is a total believer in the product.  These are truly awesome breathable athletic shoes. 

One of my favorite parts of working here is telling people that I work here and them immediately saying "Gla Gla? What kind of shoes are they?"  So I take them to the website, www.glaglausa.com, and the next thing they do is decide what their favorite color is.  We have such a wide variety of Gla Gla shoe colors, from sky blue to the tutti fruiti and from the maroon to the yellow boys,  there is a color for everyone.  Light weight, colorful, fashionable.  Hottest shoes in the game.

We recieved an e-mail here at the GlaGla Shoes offices praising the shoes for their comfort and support and it got me thinking. Here is what the e-mail said:

"I have to tell you, I purchased a pair of your shoes at our state fair over
the weekend.  I put them on and walked for 6 hours in them.  I normally
after one hours have excruciating lower back, hip and leg pain, foot pain,
but for the 6 hours I was absolutely pain free!  It's a miracle!  Thank you!"

Sometimes I forget that I'm selling more than just lightweight walking shoes, or the best nursing shoes. This e-mail made me realize that a good product, such as ours, can actually change someone's life.

Often times in business people forget that it is more than just about the all-mighty dollar. A great, comfortable shoe can actually change someone's day, or week, or life.

It is a little bit humbling, and at the same time gratifying that sometone thought highly enough of our shoes to take time out of their day and write our praises in an e-mail.
